Wild L.A. Field Trip to Old Zoo

Join the Natural History Museum and our Wild LA Interns for a nature walk at Griffith Park's Old Zoo! Discover the rich history and biodiversity of one of LA's largest urban parks. Learn about famous local wildlife like the mountain lion P-22, explore the impacts of invasive species, and experience the natural beauty of this historic site

We are excited to welcome Community Partners from Expo Center Ahmanson Senior Center and LA Metro On The Move Riders for this field trip! This program is exclusively for your communities.

What is provided 

  • Light snacks and refreshments (please bring extra snacks if you have any dietary restrictions.)
  • Our Museum staff and Wild LA interns will guide you through the park safely and identify the biodiversity we may encounter.

What you should bring: 

  • Sun protection (i.e., sunscreen, hat, sunglasses)
  • Water bottle
  • We recommend dressing in layers as weather conditions may change throughout the day.

Transportation:

Meeting at the Museum - ARRIVE BY 8:30 AM

Please meet at the Museum between 8:30 AM - 8:45 AM for bus check in and pick-up.  

Program Schedule: 

10 AM - Welcome and introductions at Old Zoo

10:15 AM - Nature stroll with the Wild LA Interns

12:00 PM - Reflections, wow-moments, and sharing

1:00 PM - Program concludes; bus departs for NHM
