La Brea Tar Pits Selected as One of First 100 Geological Heritage Sites

Iconic L.A. fossil site will be honored by the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) during celebratory conference in Zumaia, Spain, October 25–28. Planned museum renovation will better share the site’s critical research on climate change with the public.
