Dive into a prehistoric undersea adventure with our brand new, live performance starring life-size sea creature puppets. Join us as our amazing puppeteers and paleontologists bring these extinct animals to life.

Excavator Tour
The Excavator Tour explores the Fossil Lab where real paleontologists work, our historic excavation sites, and Project 23, where live excavations can be seen.
T. REX 3D Film
In the Commons Theater, see T. REX 3D which animates the life of T. Rex, including NHM’s own Thomas the T. Rex, in this all-new, family-friendly film. Narrated by Sam Neill of Jurassic Park fame, T. REX 3D offers a thrilling, immersive experience.

Dancing in L.A.: A Performance Series
Dancing in L.A., NHM's vibrant new series celebrating culture and choreography, presents Kim Eung Hwa & Korean Dance Academy's 30-minute live performance featuring traditional dances from Korea.
Reframing Dioramas: The Art of Preserving Wilderness
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the dioramas, NHM is restoring and reopening a diorama hall that has been closed for decades. There, visitors will experience immersive new installations that call attention to dioramas as a unique combination of art and science and explore biodiversity, ecology, conservation, colonialism, and changing museum display techniques.

Dive into our multimedia-rich, immersive exhibition. Discover L.A.’s prehistoric past through the stories of nearly 40 fossils that are uncovering the secrets of our submerged prehistory.
Mark Dion: Excavations
Excavations evokes a behind-the-scenes museum space, displaying new work alongside early museum murals, dioramas, and maquettes of Ice Age mammals in a playful, irreverent presentation.
