Come join us in celebrating the 100th wedding anniversary of Hollywood’s first power couple, Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, Sr., at the William S. Hart Museum and Hart Park as part of the Newhallywood Silent Film Festival. We are partnering with the City of Santa Clarita and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation to present this inaugural event, which will be taking place throughout Newhall and Santa Clarita. The festival kicks off with a “Bustour” Keaton, a bus tour of various Hollywood film locations, including sites where silent film comedian Buster Keaton shot. The festival screenings start that evening with dinner at William S. Hart Park followed by Douglas Fairbanks’s Technicolor feature, The Black Pirate. Attendees that night will get a sneak peek at the pop-up exhibit of Fairbanks and Pickford artifacts, which will be on display at theWilliam S. Hart Park throughout the rest of the weekend. Visitors to the festival on Saturday and Sunday will see props, costumes, and other memorabilia donated by the superstar couple to NHM. There will also be family-friendly activities throughout the festival weekend. Mary Pickford’s Little Annie Rooney and The Mark of Zorro starring Douglas Fairbanks, will also be shown, among the more than a dozen films screened at the festival. The Newhallywood Silent Film Festival will be a unique chance to explore rarely seen collections and films.
